Did you know that qizha (nigella seed paste) is an essential part of Palestinian and Arab homes? The paste has a bitter tone and is similar to tahini. It is often mixed with honey and enjoyed with bread or yogurt.

The seeds themselves are commonly added to white Nabulsi cheese. The seed is also known as the “blessed seed,” which is traced to Islamic tradition, with Prophet Muhammad referring to the black seed as a cure for all diseases.

Beyond their health benefits, they also make a fantastic addition to many savory and sweet recipes that we will be posting soon. Stay tuned!
